What we are looking for: As the Private Debts' platform continues to expand, the Corporate Debt team is seeking to add a Associate Director, Corporate Debt, dedicated to expanding investor awareness of the PD offerings. The incumbent will support and enhance capital raising efforts, while improving communication channels between the firm's enterprise-level Sales and Distribution teams.
This position reports to a Senior Managing Director in Corporate Private Debt. The Senior Managing Director focuses on capital raising, portfolio management, and is an investment committee member. The Associate Director, Corporate Debt will support the Senior Managing Director as they enhance and expand institutional relationships with existing and prospective investors on behalf of the Private Debt platform. The Associate Director, Corporate Debt will drive the firm's client services function, facilitating efforts to provide excellent coverage and servicing to the Private Debt client base of institutional investors, while concurrently, anticipating and responding to the variety of needs and inquiries of major Canadian investors.
Your responsibilities: Support fundraising efforts for a flagship fund whose final closing will take place in approximately one year, with a capital target of approximately ∼$1 billion. Marketing materials to be supported by thorough underlying research and analytics;

Support capital raising efforts for the Corporate Debt team by researching and compiling targeted LP and consultant lists, and by crafting product messaging for enterprise sales' teams;

Stay atop of industry trends and events, evaluating and subsequently, determining which professional conferences and summits to attend;

Manage and coordinate the Private Debt team's project management functions, including all proposal and diligence activities; ensuring that the firm accomplishes its objectives within prescribed deadlines.

Provide project management and sales support for a second Private Debt Fund, for its second close;

Summarize complex investments and structures in a succinct manner and understand key value drivers;

Over time, and with continued success, the Associate Director, Corporate Debt will become increasingly more involved with direct sales.

Additional Responsibilities include: Investor Relations Perform in-depth portfolio analytics and benchmarking and assist in the preparation of quarterly reports

Support the Corporate PD team's existing client relationships and plan biannual client meetings; providing consistent and regular updates to clients on fund performance and investment activity

Provide seamless client servicing throughout the onboarding and subscription agreement process; client communications, quarterly meetings, Limited Partner Advisory Committee (LPAC) meetings and preparation for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and ESG surveys

Respond to client inquiries; answering sophisticated and complex questions from the LPs, through communicating product details and leveraging knowledge of the underlying assets and building/maintaining internal databases

Fundraising Be accountable for the completion of qualitative and quantitative data for Request For Proposals (RFP)

Oversee and support the enterprise-level distribution teams; monitor the progression of fundraising and the available pipeline of capital

Assist with planning and organization of due diligence meetings

Collaborate with internal cohorts on overarching strategy and when required, the sourcing of the identification of prospective investors

Coordinate with investment consultants on the PD product offerings

Marketing Constantly develop and create new marketing materials and update existing resources - brochures, investor pitchbook, factsheets and case studies

Organize conferences and prepare materials for panels

Manage and maintain accuracy of the data room

Draft white papers to further promote the firm's products and to educate investors and consultants;

Must have requirements to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in economics, business or equivalent; CFA and / or MBA greatly preferred
