Our client, a leading food company, is looking to bring on board a hands on, continuous improvement-oriented VP of Operations for their facility in the GTA. This is a multi site management opportunity with travels up to 25%.In this exciting position, you will take a lead role in a fast paced, fresh processing company. This is a great opportunity to be a key stakeholder in a growing company that invests in its employees.What we are looking for you to do:Ensure compliance with Health & safety, quality and manufacturing regulationsOverall management and co-ordination of operations and functions within the facilitiesWork with the Executive Team in the development of the corporate strategyEnsure facilities meet or exceed KPIs for safety, order accuracy, OT utilization, fill rates, and shrink controlEnsure that production meets and exceeds standards for food safety, cost, quality, productivity, and customer serviceDevelop an Operations strategy that aligns with and directly supports the corporate strategyOversee the hiring, development and management of senior operations employees and ensure a highly qualified, trained, and motivated team is in placeCoordinate manufacturing and supply activities within multiple departments to improve production and plant processImplement best practices in production, automation, and material handling.Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across various locations.Ensure buildings and equipment are maintained in appearance and operation, and are in compliance with targeted standardsEnsure management systems have been created and are complied with for recipes and processes, SOPs, 3rd party certifications and QA programsPartner with Sales and Supply Chain to ensure operational readiness for new business, new markets, and acquisitionsUnderstand the plant systems and equipment capacities and make recommendations for improved efficiency and potential expansionAssist in the development of operational and capital budgets, policies and proceduresFacilitate and implement lean principles across all aspects of manufacturing and supply chainContinually coach, direct and train employees utilizing lean principlesThe ideal candidate will have:8+ years of experience as a Director of Operations (titled) required8+ years of progressive leadership in fresh food manufacturing with direct multi-site responsibilityBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM (CI certification) requiredClean driving abstract/ reliable vehicle requiredAbility to travel up to 25% requiredWhat we will offer:An attractive salary, bonus, RRSP match and benefitsAn amazing opportunity to grow your career with a leading, expanding companyIf you are someone that is ideal for this position and have a passion to be part of a leading food company please submit your resume in Microsoft Word format – and don't forget to include your accomplishments and achievements on your resume
