You will recover tissue from cadaveric donors for transplantation. You will assist the Tissue Specialist II by documenting recovery and processing information in the donor chart while maintaining accurate documentation of all activities. You will have the opportunity to assist with the sterile processing of tissue to be used for transplantation and participate in quality control and quality assurance processing. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, and the position requires long periods of standing during tissue recovery.

As a Tissue Specialist I, you will be responsible for the recovery and processing of human tissues for transplant. As you will be working in a fast-paced environment, you will be required to participate in quality control and quality assurance processes and lab activities related to tissue banking.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Graduation from a health sciences degree program or related field that includes physiology or anatomy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous operating room experience. Previous tissue banking experience. Certification as a Tissue Specialist, or equivalent, by a recognized Canadian or American organization. Knowledge of American Association of Tissue Banks and Health Canada Regulations / CSA Standards.
