Direct practical recreation programs and staff coordination for Reena's Outreach Department in Thornhill. This part-time winter contract serves community-based respite programming.
The Senior Recreational Worker helps create experiences that strengthen social and daily living skills. You will oversee program plans, guide Recreational Staff, and monitor support for children, teenagers, and adults. Programming takes place within Reena and broader community settings, incorporating Judaic culture while respecting individual spiritual choice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan recreational activities with social and skill-based outcomes
- Monitor support quality and collaborate with families
- Assist with staff and program scheduling
- Oversee health, safety, medication, and emergency requirements
- Implement programs within designated budgets
Requirements:
- College or University enrollment in Social Services or similar
- Recreation experience of one to two years
- Developmental disability exposure of one to two years
- Demonstrated staff supervision leadership skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
