This key position within the Inclusive Student Services involves providing American Sign Language interpretation across the educational spectrum from Kindergarten to grade 12. You will be responsible for enhancing student advocacy and maintaining professional standards in your interpreting practice. Engaging with students and staff, you will document educational progress and adapt materials for effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services in classroom settings
- Foster communication between educators and students with hearing loss
- Document daily interactions and experiences
- Ensure accessibility of learning materials
- Participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited interpreter training program
- 1-2 years relevant field experience
- 500 hours experience in a clinical environment
- Current First Aid and CPR preferred
- Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening required
