Maintenance Handyman

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team and work in the picturesque village of Klemtu B.C. on a 2 week rotation. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge, allowing them to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Handy Man will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various facilities
• Fabricate and install fixtures or components as needed to improve functionality or aesthetics.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with equipment or systems using logical reasoning and mechanical knowledge. .
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs completed and materials used.
• Various tasks as needed from time to time

Skills

• Strong background in facilities maintenance with hands-on experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, yard works, and road works
• Proficient mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various equipment issues effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing.
• Experience operating various equipment such as skid steer, excavator, loader, forklift etc.
• Strong ability to work with limited supervision
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
• Knowledge of boats and the ability to operate boats would be considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of power tools and hand tools
• Must have a valid driver's licence in good standing. Class 3 or class 1 would be considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
