Shalom Hillside Daycare – Now Hiring: Full-Time ECE Teacher

Shalom Hillside is looking for an experienced (minimum 1–2 years), permanent full-time Early Childhood Educator to join our team

We are seeking one ECE teacher for our play-based, child-led Preschool program. Our dedicated team of educators values collaboration, strength-based perspectives, and communication—with the child and their caregivers at the center of our work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead activities such as storytelling, songs, and walks to local points of interest
  • Support ECE educators in implementing programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
  • Plan and prepare developmentally appropriate, child-led activities and curriculum
  • Create engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environments
  • Supervise and care for children while maintaining required ratios
  • Follow Shalom Daycare policies, procedures, and the ECEBC Code of Ethics
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and families
  • Stay calm and professional in high-stress situations
  • Lift and assist young children when necessary (e.g., for care and changing)
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Assist with general classroom clean-up

Requirements

  • Valid BC ECE License to Practice
  • Criminal record check
  • CPR certification
  • Professional references

Compensation

  • ECE: $24–25/hr

+ $6/hr Wage Enhancement (not included in base rate above)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
