Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based throughout the GTAA, ON, for an Operator at Astro Environmental Corp. The Operator will be responsible for safely operating machinery and equipment essential for demolition and asbestos removal projects. Daily tasks include preparing equipment, assisting in demolition and abatement activities, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Operator will work closely with a team to meet project goals while ensuring all tasks comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operating demolition equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steers
  • Thorough understanding of safety guidelines, including working at heights and operating heavy machinery
  • Knowledge of asbestos removal procedures and abatement processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans or blueprints
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to promoting and adhering to workplace safety standards
  • Certification in asbestos abatement, forklift operation, or heavy machinery operation is an asset
  • Previous experience in the demolition or construction industry is preferred
