Salary: $1,797.31 to $2,186.7 bi-weekly ($46,909 - $57,072/year)

Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals, and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta's population. The Ministry also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Caretaker Supervisor, the Caretaker Shift Lead is responsible for on-going cleaning of the Legislature Building to ensure asset value is maintained, and to support normal operation of client department functional programs.

This Caretaker Shift Lead position functions within a demanding, time and quality sensitive framework. Developing and maintaining positive client relations with the Premier's office and ministerial offices is a key requirement. The most significant contribution to the organization is to ensure client department programs are supported through the provision of effective and efficient property management services.

Key responsibilities for the Caretaker Shift Lead include but are not limited to:

  • Providing effective supervision to assign, review, coordinate and inspect in-house caretaking activities.
  • Performing caretaking work prescribed in Standard Legislature Building Caretaking Specifications.
  • Providing responsive customers service and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Assisting with set-up for ongoing functions within the Legislature Building.
  • Coordinating cleaning schedules to minimize disruption during legislative sessions, public tours and official events.
  • Responding to urgent facility issues in a way that maintains the building's standards.
  • Managing a team of caretakers, including resolving scheduling conflicts, performance concerns and training needs.
  • Ensuring preservation of heritage features while performing cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

This position is a Permanent, Full-Time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (6:30 am – 2:45 pm).
