Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Janitorial and Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on position plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of commercial and residential properties under Azul Mountain's care. The successful candidate will perform regular janitorial duties, assist with light maintenance, and contribute to the positive image of the properties we manage.
This role involves travel between multiple sites in the Greater Vancouver area.
Key Responsibilities
Janitorial Services
- Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of common areas, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, and offices.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all assigned spaces with attention to detail and quality.
- Maintain spotless entryways, windows, and glass doors to ensure welcoming environments.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Restock restrooms and common area supplies.
- Any other janitorial duties as required.
Maintenance Support
- Conduct light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, tightening fixtures, and minor drywall or paint touch-ups.
- Report and document any repair or safety concerns promptly to the Building Management team.
- Support external contractors as needed for larger maintenance or repair projects.
- Assist with seasonal tasks, including basic landscaping, snow removal, and pressure washing.
- Any other maintenance duties as required.
Quality and Safety
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards.
- Follow WorkSafeBC safety protocols and company standards at all times.
- Ensure tools, cleaning supplies, and equipment are stored properly and maintained in good working condition.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in janitorial, caretaking, or light maintenance roles.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment and using hand tools safely and effectively.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office or mobile work order apps preferred).
- Valid BC Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
