POSITION TITLE: JAYS CARE RBI SUMMER EDITION ACTIVITY LEADER

REPORTS TO: Jays Care RBI Summer Edition Program Director

CONTRACT DURATION: June 29, 2026 – August 21, 2026

SALARY: The anticipated base compensation for this role is $25.00 per hour.

POSITION STATUS: New

WORK HOURS: 35 hours per week (average)

WORK LOCATIONS: Assigned to one of 8 schools within the Toronto District School Board (applicant will have opportunity to indicate location preference).

Jays Care RBI Summer Edition Activity Leader:

• Serve as an activity leader for approximately 30 participants per activity session, helping to lead and facilitate programming for the entire site of up to 200 youth
• Lead one of the core programming rotations (baseball, creative arts, or teamwork exercises).
• Delegate duties to supporting staff members to ensure smooth delivery of activity programming
• Design, lead, and participate in daily activities that promote fun, skill-building, and life lessons through baseball and play, while modeling leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork.
• Assist with planning and implementation of special events and baseball tournaments
• Assess and prepare all necessary supplies and equipment for each activity session
• Serve as a positive role model for youth and staff, demonstrating leadership, empathy, and effective conflict resolution to foster a safe and welcoming environment
• Participate in dynamic training to provide you with all the tools for success, motivation, and youth engagement
• Ensuring that effective safety protocols are followed, including physical, emotional, and site safety measures
• Address any behaviour concerns at once using Jays Care RBI Summer Edition behaviour management protocols and guidelines

• Prior experience working with kids in a camp setting
• Mature and capable of working independently
• Dynamic leader who can engage with staff
• Has experience been part of a sports team or group setting, baseball experience is an asset
• Ability to respond to new and changing situations
• Safe, inclusive, and thoughtful
• Open-minded and ready to learn
• Works well in small and large teams
• Track record of sticking to daily routines
• Can ensure the safe organization of an indoor programming space
• Has completed Grade 12 or higher by start of the program

This position is part of our annual seasonal staffing needs. All interested applicants should be aware that this is an in-person role, employed by Jays Care with a seasonal fixed-term contract. Camp staff are expected to be present at their designated job site each day of their summer contract, as well as attend all mandatory staff training.  RBI Summer Edition (July & August) runs distinct from RBI Spring (April to June). Coaches hired for the Jays Care Spring program are eligible and encouraged to apply to work for RBI Summer Edition.
