Role Summary:

Our Canadian Head Office is currently looking for Leadership Development Leader to join the team. The Leadership Development Leader will directly advance our purpose of Building Great Leaders by leading the effort to deeply embed a leadership development culture within their operating company. Leadership Development is the primary responsibility of this role. They will serve as a trusted advisor to their senior leadership team to promote the deployment and facilitation of APi Group's leadership development initiatives within their companies, while promoting the leadership behaviors we value as an organization.

You will be expected to support APi Group Canada companies (Chubb, SMC, Vipond Inc.). 

Key Job Responsibilities:

Leadership Development:

  • Develop a deep understanding of both general and APi specific leadership concepts.
  • Act as an ambassador in order to embed a culture of leadership development at all layers of the company, including branch and field levels.
  • Focus on continually transforming the leadership capabilities of teammates across the operating company, in line with our Building Great Leaders purpose.
  • Organize and facilitate foundational leadership development courses within the company; initial focus on leadership programs such as Leadership Mindset, 7 Habits, Situational Leadership, Inside Out Coaching.
  • Onboard and integrate acquisitions into the Building Great Leaders culture.
  • Continually assess the impact of leadership development programs and make recommendations and changes for improvement.
  • Facilitate leadership development courses for field and office, adapting modality and delivery depending on the audience.
  • Support leaders in their change initiatives by leveraging leadership development practices.
  • Collaborate with company leadership on developing annual business plans and longer term strategic plans, ensuring leadership development is part of each plan.
  • Collaborate and support other leadership and talent initiatives such as succession planning.

Partnership and Relationship Management:

  • Actively build trusting relationships with business leaders (office and field) to build the leadership development capability and focus in the operating company.
  • Collaborate with field and business leaders to align leadership development strategies with business goals.
  • Participate in design and create role based leadership development programs such as sales, field and branch leadership.
  • Work in lock-step with Leadership Development Business partner to maintain solid connection to APi Group Leadership Development best practices.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

BS/BA in leadership, organizational psychology, learning and development or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (i.e. coaching) is a plus.

Experiences:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of Leadership Development experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and French is strongly preferred and recommended
  • Experience and application of adult learning is a plus
  • Operational leadership experience is a plus
  • Have a deep understanding of specific leadership development concepts / approaches with the ability to translate theories into actionable strategies
  • Willingness, capacity, and passion to be a leadership development trusted advisor
  • Facilitation skills should reflect adult learning principles, foster inclusion, and inspire learning
  • Ability to think strategically and create long-term solutions that are aligned with business objectives and enhance the employee experience
  • Ability to differentiate when to teach and when to coach. Ability to ask insightful questions and make observations that support others in finding their own solutions
  • Ability to build partnerships and influence leaders at all levels and guide leadership development decisions throughout the business
  • Has a passion for learning and staying at the forefront of the field to ensure strategies and platforms are both current and future focused
  •  Ability to be agile, adapt to changing business landscapes and embrace change
  • Willing and able to influence success beyond specified Area of Responsibility (AOR)
  • Willingness to make commitments and consistently meet them
