Your Opportunity
We are currently searching for a Geologist in Training to join our Canadian mining team. As a Geologist in Training, you will be a member of a multidisciplinary team working in energy and resources, primarily on metal, coal and large oil sands mining projects. Work will include various stages in the project life cycle, from exploration and site investigations, through conceptual design, construction, closure and reclamation. Our geological project work typically involves the planning and execution of complex field work scopes and the production of high-quality datasets and client deliverables.
Applicants must be prepared to travel and be in the field for assignment intervals of 2 to 3 weeks regularly up to 50% annually. This role is classified as full-time employment with benefits with an estimated 37.5 hours per week.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Exemplify Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines.
- Participate in the planning and completion of geological/geotechnical site investigations. This may include instrumentation, logging, sampling, and field testing.
- Generate and/or update technical drawings, figures and models.
- Assist in the preparation of technical design documents under limited supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals under limited supervision.
