About the Role

Bellagio Law is seeking an experienced Lead Family Law Paralegal to support a busy and growing family law practice. This role is for someone who already understands family law files and does not need hand-holding.

You will work closely with lawyers on active files from intake to resolution, manage deadlines independently, and serve as a key point of continuity for clients. This is not an entry-level or purely administrative role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare family law documents, including pleadings, affidavits, applications, and correspondence
  • Manage family law files from intake through resolution with minimal supervision
  • Track court deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date electronic files
  • Assist with disclosure management and document organization
  • Support lawyers with hearing and application preparation
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with emotionally charged clients

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in family law (non-negotiable)
  • Strong understanding of Alberta family court procedures
  • Excellent drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active files independently
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and client-management skills
  • Experience with Cosmolex or similar practice-management software preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
