Propell is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer. Our Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for equipment design and product development from concept through production. This role involves creating 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation to support manufacturing and product lifestyle activities. The Mechanical Design Engineer must effectively translate customer requirements into safe, reliable and cost-effective designs while clearly communicating technical concepts through both written and verbal means.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

Design & Product Development

  • Oversee assigned engineering projects and activities from concept through completion
  • Translate customer needs, specification and value opportunities into timely, cost-effective and functional design solutions
  • Develop 3D CAD models, engineered drawings and bills of materials for shop production
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for safety, compliance, manufacturability, serviceability and risk mitigation
  • Create, conduct and document prototyping and testing activities as required
  • Perform the necessary calculations and/or analysis to verify the design integrity

Project & Technical Leadership

  • Develop project and operational plans and monitor progress to ensure alignment with schedule, cost and quality objectives
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, quality, procurement and supply chain teams to ensure design intent is achieved
  • Provide engineering and manufacturing support throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Support sales and customer-facing teams with technical expertise as required
  • Lead continuous product improvement, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create and maintain customer-facing and internal product documentation
  • Manage and continuously improve engineering drawing packages, work instructions, and technical documentation aligned with product or brand specialization
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and engineering standards
  • Verification of product fitness-for-purpose, cost effectiveness, compliance, design for service, design for manufacture and risk mitigation
  • Development of project and operational plans and monitoring and control of project and operational activities to ensure compliance with time, cost and quality objectives
  • Execution of continuous product improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Provide technical support in the form of manufacturing engineering activities
  • Provide support to the sales department as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
