Job Summary
CMI is growing, and we're looking for a Maintenance Planner/Parts Coordinator to join our team

The Maintenance Planner/Parts Coordinator is responsible for developing and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance, managing parts and supplies, coordinating technicians and vendors, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures for machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This role also utilizes a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work, analyze data for continuous improvement, and support budget management to enhance operational efficiency and extend asset life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Create and implement schedules for routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage parts, supplies, and materials, including establishing min/max levels, overseeing disbursement, and maintaining accurate inventory records in Manager+.
  • Coordination & Communication: Work closely with maintenance teams, technicians, vendors, and other departments to ensure timely task completion, resolve logistical issues, and support operational needs.
  • System Administration: Maintain and update the CMMS to ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, asset records, and work orders.
  • Reporting: Create and distribute maintenance reports to stakeholders, communicating the status of maintenance operations and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Parts searching and ordering: Identify and source required parts, review and compare quotes with the Maintenance Manager, coordinate with OEM vendors (e.g., Hansler, Liebherr, Toromont), book service technicians, schedule PMs, and initiate parts orders.
  • Analytical Thinking: Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, assess equipment performance, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidate with previous planner experience ideal 4-6 years.
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated understanding of maintenance procedures, equipment, systems, and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CMMS/EAM systems (Example: Manager +) to manage work orders, asset data, and maintenance schedules.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using inventory management software and strong Microsoft Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to coordinate effectively with technicians, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reading & Interpretation Skills: Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documents, and work orders to support maintenance planning activities.
