As we continue to grow, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our team and play a key role in winning and delivering successful projects.

Position Overview

The Senior Construction Estimator will be responsible for managing the full estimating process—from bid solicitation to final proposal submission. This individual will identify and pursue new opportunities, prepare accurate cost estimates, and ensure competitive, profitable bids across a range of civil, landscape, and general contracting projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing bids and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for civil, landscape, hardscape, and general contracting projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
  • Utilize online bidding and procurement platforms to identify and pursue new bid opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive pricing and project success.
  • Conduct bid reviews and risk assessments with management and project teams.
  • Track market trends, labor rates, and material costs to maintain up-to-date pricing databases.
  • Participate in project handoffs and assist in the transition from preconstruction to operations.
  • Proactively seek out new projects and business development opportunities to grow the company's portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years of estimating experience in general contracting, civil construction, landscape, or hardscape projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Proficient in online bidding systems (e.g., BuildingConnected, BidClerk, iSqFt, etc.) and takeoff/estimating software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
