Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Controller to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON . The Assistant Controller is responsible for the preparation of month end financial statements ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded per IFRS. The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller in timely and accurately preparing and analyzing financial reports..

What Will You Do?

• Facilitation & preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (on time and with accuracy)
• Responsible for managing operation data, ensuring data integrity and reconciling general ledger
• Create, calculate and post journal entries including month end accruals
• Complete, produce weekly sales and various statistical reports, analyze, and distribute summary information related to Business Strategic Plans
• Review of key performance indicators
• Analysis of current financial statements vs. prior years and budgets
• Review, analyze, and report Sales and Use Tax remittance for both Canada and US
• File statutory returns like HST/QST/PST/ WSIB/EHT.
• Processing bank payments, prepare bank reconciliation.
• Review of Customer / Vendor ageing reports.
• Assist Controller in year-end external audits.
• Assist with internal control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

Qualifications:

University degree in accounting or finance, preference given to those holding a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA or close to completion).

5+ years of related accounting or finance experience in manufacturing set up reporting to financial representatives.

Experience of working in newly acquired company is added advantage.

Experience of working in IFRS is added advantage.

Knowledge of Canadian and US tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial regulations.

Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS office suite.

Experience with ERP systems (like Odoo/SAP) is an asset.

Professional with a strong work ethic and respect for confidentiality.

High degree to detail-orientation/ accuracy and a commitment to quality.
