Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Gujarati Speaking Health Care Aide to provide exceptional patient care in . The ideal candidate will be fluent in Gujarati and possess a strong understanding of healthcare practices, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication administration, and patient observation. This role involves working closely with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory and dementia care. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives within a supportive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and observe patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
  • Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document medical records accurately
  • Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
  • Operate EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
  • Perform vital signs assessments and assist with catheter care, Hoyer lifts, and other medical procedures
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, respecting cultural preferences and language needs
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, laundry, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive home & community care services

Skills

  • Fluency in Gujarati is essential; proficiency in English is preferred
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in assisted living environments
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and medical documentation processes
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and HIPAA compliance standards
  • Ability to perform CPR and handle emergency situations effectively
  • Experience caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or hospice needs is highly desirable
  • Competence in using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and managing catheter care
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate caregiving attitude with patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
