As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing hands-on building and landscaping maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs. This position is primarily outdoors, especially during the summer months with a large focus on our irrigation systems, fountains, and retention ponds across our properties. Other duties include minor interior and exterior repairs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to shape the role around their skills and career goals. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain irrigation systems, fountains, pumps, and ponds, including operation, cleaning, troubleshooting, repairs, and seasonal start-ups/shut-downs
  • Operate, maintain, and repair small tools, equipment, and power tools
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections of building exteriors, landscaped areas, parking lots, and vacant units
  • Complete minor grounds maintenance work such as pruning, planting, site cleanup, snow clearing touch ups, salting, etc.
  • Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Respond to tenant requests for small repairs and maintenance
  • Perform minor carpentry and caulking work (interiors, windows, and precast concrete panels)
  • Support, supervise, and work with seasonal summer student workers
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused work environment
  • Complete all responsibilities in accordance with safety standards and preventative maintenance practices
  • Other duties as required

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, irrigation, or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of pumps, fountain, irrigation timers, various sensors considered an asset
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and light equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience performing minor repairs and maintenance
  • A driven self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a strong drive to learn, grow, and contribute in a team setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license is required
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Salary offered may be adjusted, with final compensation to be determined based on previous experience and qualifications.

Pay: $56,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
