Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Supply Chain AMI, the Contracts Supervisor, Supply Chain, AMI is responsible for overseeing and supervising supply chain activities related to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) material supply agreements. This role combines contract management with leadership responsibilities, ensuring accurate forecasting, efficient procurement, and effective inventory control. The Supervisor provides direction to team members and contractors, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement to maintain operational excellence and data-driven decision-making across the AMI supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the implementation of AMI supply contracts as it relates to the Gas AMI project across the FortisBC service territory.
  • Direct the management of AMI supply contracts, including purchase requisitions, change orders, and pricing adjustments.
  • Provide technical excellence in business processes as they relate to Procurement and Contracts Management.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
  • Advise AMI team members and deployment contractors on material forecasting, inventory control and contract compliance. Provide process and quality oversight to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, industry standards, applicable metrics, and agreements.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy by coordinating with deployment contractors and internal stakeholders. Review and assess the supplier's submitted documentation.
  • Support the analyses of inventory discrepancies identified through cycle counts and manage the review of goods issues failures. Develop contractor performance metrics and review any risks or issues and find contracted solutions for any potential concerns.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and procurement teams as well as the supplier for delivery and maintain the material inventory for gas AMI meter deployment. Review consumption tracking and variance analysis, approving corrective measures as needed.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of four (4) years of recent relevant experience in contract or project management.
  • Experience with contract and procurement work methods and procedures and Inventory/Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of SAP (Material Management Module), and MS Office Systems
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, meticulous attention to detail, with a focus on efficiency.
  • Understanding of Logistics and Transportation Management.
  • Excellent verbal, electronic and written communication skills.

Additional Information

  • This role is headquartered in Burnaby, Surrey, or Kelowna, BC
  • Regular and in-person visits to various contractor sites are required.
