Overview

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician (any year) to join our team on a short-term basis for 2–3 weeks in Regina, SK, with the potential for ongoing work on future projects. You'll be working under a licensed journeyperson on commercial and light industrial projects, including a new child care centre fit-up and related tenant improvements.

This role is ideal for someone who wants real, on-the-tools experience with EMT/conduit, lighting, receptacles, equipment feeds, and low-voltage (fire alarm / cameras) in an active construction environment. You must be safety-focused, willing to learn, and able to follow direction on a busy jobsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a journeyperson electrician on residential and commercial sites in Regina.
  • Rough-in and install EMT/conduit, boxes, and supports for lighting, receptacles, and equipment.
  • Assist with pulling, terminating, and labeling conductors for branch circuits and feeders.
  • Help install and aim lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches, and related devices.
  • Support fire alarm and low-voltage cabling (e.g., camera, data, and device wiring) as directed.
  • Help with panel work: identifying circuits, updating panel schedules, and dressing wiring (under supervision).
  • Read and work from basic electrical plans, symbols, and markups to complete tasks correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including end-of-day clean-up and material handling.
  • Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and company procedures at all times.
  • Communicate clearly with the journeyperson and site lead about progress, questions, and issues.

Qualifications

  • Registered Apprentice Electrician in Saskatchewan (SATCC) preferred; strong consideration given to individuals actively working toward registration.
  • Previous experience on commercial or industrial jobsites (even limited) is an asset, but not strictly required.
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools (e.g., drills, impacts, benders, knock-out sets) safely.
  • Basic understanding of conduit, wiring methods, and jobsite safety (lockout/tagout, ladders, lifts, etc.).
  • Physically able to perform site work: standing, lifting, working off ladders/lifts, pulling wire, etc.
  • Reliable transportation to sites in Regina.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a genuine interest in learning the electrical trade.
  • Able to take direction, ask questions when unsure, and work as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.

Job Type & Schedule

  • Term: Approximately 2–3 weeks, with the possibility of extension or future projects for the right person.
  • Location: Regina, SK (commercial / light industrial projects including a child care centre).
  • Hours: Full-time site hours (typically weekdays, daytime; some flexibility based on project needs).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $23.00-$33.00 per hour
