We are looking for a Senior Consultant, Forensic Accounting to join our Internal Investigation Unit (IIU)
In this role, you will be at the forefront of internal fraud detection and investigation, leveraging advanced analytics and innovative tools to safeguard our organization's integrity.
Responsible for the highly complex internal investigations and the development of the internal investigation team's processes. The Senior Consultant is a key member of the team, your work will have a big impact in our investigation of internal threats. You possess a clear passion for extracting evidence from data combined with a strong investigative mentality to lead our investigations. You will be the fraud expert and will act as a role model for the team.
What you'll do here:
Develop and maintain effective fraud detection tools and techniques.
Innovate and enhance fraud monitoring tools, leveraging AI and machine learning.
Develop datasets for advanced analytics applications, including predictive analysis.
Employ advanced data analytics tools to streamline detection processes.
Explore datasets to flag anomalies, keeping monitoring efforts aligned with industry trends.
Provide clear data interpretations to guide specific projects.
Lead investigations by guiding the investigation team, ensuring thorough data analysis and understanding.
Document all phases of the investigation, preparing reports for potential litigation.
Lead the development of fraud detection training programs for ongoing proficiency.
Foster collaborative relationships across departments (Corporate Audit, Legal, Cyber, Risk, and Executives) to streamline prevention strategies.
Propose and support new initiatives to enhance team performance and detection effectiveness.
What you bring to the table:
CPA, CBV, CFE or CFF designation – is required.
Minimum 7-years experience in forensic accounting, audit, insurance, or financial investigation.
Master's degree or MBA in finance, accounting or business.
Experience in formal report writing (in the context of litigations).
Proficient in advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SAS, Power BI) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Independent worker capable of leading change and initiating improvement initiatives.
Visionary with the ability to integrate insights into actionable strategies.
Bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking and French-speaking colleagues across the country.
