We are searching for a Collection Coordinator to join our Finance team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This is a Temporary Full Time Opportunity for an approximate 18 month term.

About the Opportunity

  • Responsible for the review and analysis of client aged receivables
  • Review aged account collection matters in meetings you lead with sites
  • Negotiate collection or related payment plans with clients and families
  • Communicating potential errors or write off in a timely manner to the Revenue Cycle Manager
  • Reviewing aged accounts and ensuring collection processes are followed, reporting regularly on status of aged accounts and collection efforts
  • Utilizes established tracking tools to monitor aged accounts receivable and work with legal counsel and the Revenue Cycle Manager to actively collect overdue accounts in accordance with the company's collection policy and associated guidelines
  • Administers collection documents, communications and paperwork
  • Address complex resident account issues related to collection or overdue accounts

About You

In addition to placing high value on accuracy, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:

  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years prior collection or receivables related experience
  • Experience with Yardi software an asset
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
