Position Summary:

The Financial Controller will oversee the company's accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with IFRS, and timely delivery of monthly and annual results. This role manages the full accounting cycle, leads month-end close, develops budgets and forecasts, and provides financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  2. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in compliance with
    IFRS
    standards.
  3. Oversee the
    full cycle of accounting
    , including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger.
  4. Develop, monitor, and maintain robust accounting policies and internal controls.
  5. Coordinate and review
    budget preparation
    across departments, consolidating into company-wide budgets.
  6. Prepare
    financial forecasts
    , variance analysis, and management reporting to support decision-making.
  7. Provide detailed monthly financial reporting packages with commentary on key variances.
  8. Manage audit processes, including liaising with external auditors to ensure timely and clean audit opinions.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
  10. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to optimize financial position.
  11. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
  12. Maintain accounting systems, recommending enhancements or new solutions as needed.
  13. Lead and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  14. Partner with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  15. Develop and maintain robust cost tracking and analysis to support operational efficiency.
  16. Support risk management by identifying financial risks and implementing controls.
  17. Ensure accurate reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  18. Oversee capital expenditure tracking and project accounting.
  19. Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  20. Ensure team compliance with professional and ethical accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of
    IFRS
    and full cycle accounting.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
