About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Packaging Designer / Supervisor to lead the design and development of automotive packaging solutions. You will mentor junior designers, oversee packaging projects, and ensure designs meet quality, safety, and cost-efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead packaging design for automotive parts and assemblies using high-level SolidWorks (CATIA a bonus).
  • Review and create packaging drawings, specifications, and BOMs aligned with internal and customer standards.
  • Evaluate and optimize packaging to improve protection, reduce costs, and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct and oversee packaging tests (vibration, compression, drop, stack).
  • Mentor and supervise junior designers, guiding technical and process development.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, quality, and suppliers to ensure packaging compatibility.
  • Maintain documentation, compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7+ years of automotive packaging design experience with leadership/supervisory experience.
  • High-level SolidWorks expertise (CATIA is a bonus).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive packaging materials and protective design principles.
  • Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, lean manufacturing, and APQP/PPAP processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
