Mechanical Designer

Frankor Hydraulics is looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering team. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the entire design and manufacturing process from start to finish as we manufacture almost all our components in-house.
Our Mechanical Designers are responsible for the design and ongoing improvement of our hydraulic cylinders used in applications including construction, mining, forestry, automotive, material handling, and much more. The successful candidate will work directly with our customers to design custom cylinders that meet their unique needs. The level of responsibility and specific assignments will be based on the abilities of the candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Design parts & assembly 3D models with complete drawing packages
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) in SolidWorks.
- Export and import BOM data between SolidWorks and JobBoss ERP system.
- Assign and manage standardized part numbers for standard components.
- Process orders and manage part routing within the JobBoss system.
- Oversee inventory control using JobBoss, including adjustments and forecasting based on demand.
- Manage purchasing activities, including blanket orders for consumable and non-consumable items.
- Set up inventory triggers in JobBoss for low-stock alerts and replenishment.
- Negotiate and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Track and manage time and labor through the JobBoss system.
- Collaborate with the design team in developing and improving hydraulic cylinder designs.
- NCR and revision Control
- Create and maintain SolidWorks templates and data cards integrated with JobBoss.
- Conduct final inspections of outgoing finished goods to ensure quality compliance.
- Plan and execute production scheduling, workflow management, and target achievement.
- Monitor and report on work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure project timelines are met.
- Manage drawing system integrity in the product data management system.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Hydraulic Cylinder Design experience an Asset
- 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks with a preference for those who have certified training completed
- Computer proficient in MS Office Software
- Preference to those who can demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly
- Able to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
