Job Summary

As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of industrial automation and material handling equipment. You will work closely with a collaborative design team to complete detailed designs and provide technical support throughout the fabrication and installation process.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD
  • Design mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Collaborate with other designers, engineers, and project managers
  • Prepare BOMs, general assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and kickoff meetings
  • Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical drawings and clarification
  • Complete as-built documentation based on input from the shop or field
  • Assist with project documentation and file management

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (minimum 2-year program)
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2015 or newer)
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Familiarity with motors, gearboxes, drive systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control components
  • Strong drafting fundamentals and technical drawing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (occasionally)
