Your role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based solutions across hybrid environments. You'll play a key role in ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance by leveraging automation, modern cloud architecture, and best practices.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and hybrid environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code templates and automation scripts using tools such as PowerShell, ARM, Bicep, or Terraform
- Implement security protocols including role-based access controls (RBAC), encryption, and identity management
- Configure Azure blueprints and Azure Policy
- Deploy and Manage Azure Landing Zones
- Assist in migration of on-prem workloads to the cloud using best practices for scalability and security
- Monitor cloud resources and services to ensure high availability and performance
- Collaborate with network engineers to configure secure connectivity (VPNs, ExpressRoute, Private Link, etc.)
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and integration with DevOps tools
- Troubleshoot cloud-related incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain documentation of environments, configurations, and standard operating procedures
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years' experience infrastructure Operations/Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (VMs, Storage, Networking, Identity, Automation)
- Solid scripting skills in PowerShell and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ARM, Terraform, Bicep)
- Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and secure mail transport using Exchange Hybrid setups
- Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across networking, certificates, authentication, and compliance
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Event Viewer)
Preferred qualifications
- Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent certification
- Familiarity with Azure networking, Azure Firewall, Front Door, and DNS management
- Exposure to Zero Trust architecture principles
- Experience with CI/CD integration and containerization (AKS, Docker, Helm)
Compensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance. Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. Other benefits include: Paid sick days, maternity/parental enhancement program, bonus, and an RRSP contribution matching program. For Vancouver-based employees, we provide a subsidized meal program, courtesy of our talented in-house culinary team
British Columbia - Base salary range: $120,000 CAD - $140,000 CAD
