Trackwork Quality Assurance Inspector

Overview
The Trackwork Quality Assurance Inspector will support the Surrey Langley Skytrain team, to ensure that all trackwork components and installations meet the required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspection, documentation, process improvement, and collaboration with engineering, construction, and supplier teams to maintain high standards of safety and performance in railway infrastructure projects.
Your role
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures specific to trackwork and railway systems that are in compliance with industry standards such as AREMA, AAR, FRA, ISO, and project-specific specifications.
- Conduct inspections and tests on trackwork components (rails, fasteners, special trackwork, etc.).
- Verify installation accuracy and alignment using precision instruments.
- Monitor grouting, welding, assembly, and fastening activities to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, identified deficiencies or nonconformities, follow up on corrections and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Produce reports, analyze quality data to identify recurring issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide training to field staff and contractors on Quality procedures and criteria of acceptance and promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness.
- Work Conditions:
- Field and office-based role with regular site visits.
- May require travel to project sites and supplier facilities.
- Must be able to work in varying weather and site conditions.
About you
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in railway or infrastructure QA/QC.
- Familiarity with trackwork construction methods and materials.
- High school diploma and trackwork installation-related training are required.
- Certification in quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in QA software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid driver's license.

Additional information
Expected compensation for this role is between $122,500 - $168,400 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
