IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC's businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

AGLC is currently seeking a Junior Network Operations Analyst (SA1) to support our Team, with a primary focus of supporting AGLC's Corporate and Gaming Network infrastructure. This includes support, maintenance, capacity management, and the implementation of new technology. As an Operations Analyst, the incumbent will serve as an escalation point and assist other analysts on both the Network Operations team and the Network Infrastructure team. The incumbent will be required to monitor the Operations Queue, handle support calls, collaborate with other team members to create operational support plans and procedures, and assist other IT staff with technical issues and task priorities.
The secondary role of this position is to coordinate and manage changes or installations of physical infrastructure in AGLC facilities. This includes wide area network service installations, major cabling installations and changes, as well as preventive maintenance, upgrades, and moves for data closets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support AGLC's network infrastructure, including corporate and gaming Wi-Fi, IoT (cloud-connected devices), and remote user VPN access.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and carriers to troubleshoot issues across the campus, data center, LAN, and WAN environments.
- Monitor the health of AGLC's gaming and corporate networks and generate reports for capacity planning.
- Plan and execute network maintenance, upgrades, and repairs with minimal impact on production systems.
- Monitor operational support queues, respond to support calls, assist other analysts, and document support procedures.
- Provide technical assistance during deployment and rollout activities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end network solutions.
- Support project execution by identifying tasks, milestones, and deliverables as part of broader technology roadmaps.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, support guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Time tracking management.
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Equivalency:
- Diploma in Computer Science or
- Certificate in Computer Science and 1 year of experience.
- Solid theoretical and practical understanding of the technologies used for Network Routing and Switching.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams collaboration tools.
- Understanding of encrypted VPN tunnels and remote access technologies.
- Experience supporting wireless (Wi-Fi) networks.
- Ability to install, manage, and troubleshoot network-related hardware and software.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (up to 25% of the year), with the ability to report to the St. Albert head office within 1 hour of notice.
Assets:
- Experience managing a Genesys CCaaS system, Genesys Contact Center training and/or certification.
- Ability to configure and manage Cisco devices, including wireless controllers, access points, switches, and routers.
- Microsoft 365 and cloud-related training or certifications.
- Knowledge or certification in the Absolute Secure Access platform.
- Cisco CCNA certification (or higher), or equivalent training and experience.
- Ability to install and maintain surveillance camera systems.
- Python scripting skills.
