JOB OPPORTUNITY – 2026 SUMMER STUDENT PROGRAM

Description

Peters & Co. is currently seeking to hire highly motivated and energetic summer students in the Corporate Finance (Investment Banking), Research, and Sales / Trading departments.

Depending on the department, students will gain practical experience in a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Corporate Finance (Investment Banking): public and private equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other advisory assignments, develop advanced skills in financial modeling as well as understanding of financial statement analysis and valuation methods
  • Research: coverage of public energy companies and industry analysis across sub-sectors, develop advanced skills in financial modeling as well as an understanding of financial statement analysis and valuation methods, while also maintaining company databases and models for a wide variety of energy companies
  • Sales / Trading: develop an understanding of financial markets and support the firm's key corporate and institutional client relationships, generate trading ideas and order flow in public / private investments and equity financings, manage and execute order flow, assist with back office and settlement procedures, assist other traders on the desk with current operations

Work Term: May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026, or such other dates as mutually agreed upon.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in business (finance or accounting) or engineering
  • Financial, accounting and / or energy related work experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Outstanding qualities of leadership, work ethic, and motivation
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
