User Support Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled User Support Technician to join our technical operations team. The successful candidate will provide user assistance, perform system maintenance, and ensure stable performance of critical information systems used by government departments and public agencies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to user inquiries and service requests related to government information systems, including healthcare data platforms and internal communication tools.
- Install, configure, and update hardware, software, and system applications.
- Provide technical support for email systems, database interfaces, and AI-assisted response tools.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of user support requests and system incidents.
- Perform routine system diagnostics, software patches, and security updates.
- Assist with data backup, recovery, and access control procedures to ensure information integrity and confidentiality.
- Support the implementation and testing of new system features and upgrades.
- Provide user training and guidance on new tools or protocols.
- Ensure compliance with government IT security standards and privacy regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of a college diploma or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in user or technical support or received proper training as equivalence
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and database management.
- Experience with email systems, ticketing systems, and AI communication tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and government data privacy standards.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced technical environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$36.13 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB T3C 0Z8
