We're currently looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This role is responsible for customers' Cloud infrastructure (servers, databases, network, security), architecture, and operations, as well as on-premises network and infrastructure support and guidance.

You will advise on strategy, architecture, and best practices for the setup and monitoring of environments, as well as doing the work to set up, monitor, and maintain the systems.

You will also work with the Embross application development teams to deploy releases of new applications and assist customers in deploying applications, as well as troubleshooting environmental issues.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and manage cloud services: Ensure systems are highly available, scalable, and optimized for performance and cost.
  • Collaborate with development teams: Deploy backend, middleware, and web applications developed by our software teams.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring systems: Ensure system health and performance through effective monitoring and alerting.
  • Support diverse environments: Manage Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies: Propose improvements to architecture and processes.
  • Manage cloud costs: Develop cost estimates, track expenses, and provide financial insights.
  • Advise on infrastructure deployments: Serve as a technical consultant for infrastructure projects for both customer and deployment team.
  • Promote DevOps best practices: Create and maintain network and server architecture documentation.
  • Maintain databases: Ensure the security and integrity of SQL and non-SQL databases.
  • Support security initiatives: Update and maintain information security policies.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans: Work with Cyber Security team to ensure plans are well-documented and effective.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues: Resolve challenges related to OS, networking, and databases for customers.
  • Provide level 3 production support: Meet customer SLAs and manage communication during incidents.
  • Ensure 24×7 support: Collaborate with teams and customers across different time zones.

Who You Are

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing systems, network, and database infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiar with Windows 10/11, Windows Server , Linux(various os), and vSphere or Hyper-v.
  • Experience in creating network and server architecture diagrams, server monitoring, and patching.
  • Skilled in administering HTTP servers (IIS, Tomcat, Apache) and web application servers, with a preference for Apache Tomcat.
  • Proficient in configuring load balancers, NAT gateways, and internet gateways in cloud environments.
  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and MySQL, and knowledge of Oracle, IBM DB2, MongoDB, and Postgres.
  • Background in configuring and managing virtual networks in cloud environments (AWS VPCs).
  • Experience in designing and maintaining hybrid network connections.
  • Skilled in implementing cloud firewalls, security groups, and network ACLs.
  • Proficient in monitoring cloud network performance and optimizing cost and efficiency.
  • Experience in managing DNS in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Route 53, Azure DNS).
  • Skilled in setting up private endpoints and peering connections.
  • Apply network security best practices across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Automate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
  • Familiar with standard IT security practices, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, and SSL.
  • Motivated to learn and participate in company-provided training regularly.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, including effective communication, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English.

  • AWS, CompTia, ITIL, Microsoft etc. certified
  • Able to demonstrate sound leadership and teambuilding skills.
  • Knowledge of service architecture, containerization, and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, microservices.
  • Experienced in Office 365 Administration.
  • Familiar with PEN testing and vulnerability management.
  • Subject-matter expert in Travel and Transportation business areas - Airline, airport services or DCS (Departure Control System), RES (Reservation System), BHS, CUTE, CUPPS system services.
  • Experienced with Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning.
  • Experienced in Java, python, Go, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, ReactJS/Redux
  • Experienced with J2EE application framework - Spring Framework.
  • Experienced with OpenAPI (Swagger), WADL, WSDL script.

You Travel

You will be working mostly from the Richmond Hill Office, with a possibility of 0 – 15% of business travel.
