Job Summary

We are locally family owned steel service center seeking a skilled Plasma Operator to join our processing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating plasma cutting machines to fabricate high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to read blueprints.

Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30PM.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain plasma cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate components accurately.
  • Utilize CAD software for programming and adjusting plasma cutting parameters.
  • Conduct quality checks using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precision in fabrication.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues with machinery or production processes.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Safely operate power tools, CNC machinery, and milling machines as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a plasma Operator or in a similar manufacturing role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for programming plasma operations is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using calipers and other measurement tools for quality assurance.
  • Experience operating forklifts is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
