We are looking for a Buyer to join our Buying and Category team

About the Role

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end buying and category management process across multiple beauty product lines. You will oversee supplier relationships, sourcing, assortment strategy, and product lifecycle management, ensuring innovation, strong brand growth, and optimal sales and inventory performance.

Supplier & Category Management

  • Lead end-to-end category management, overseeing vendor partnerships, pricing, assortment, and profitability across multiple brands and product lines.
  • Negotiate with local and international suppliers on pricing, terms, and promotional support to optimize margin and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of category performance, consumer trends, and competitive landscape to refine assortment strategies and pricing architecture.
  • Define and implement category strategies, identifying assortment gaps, expansion opportunities, and seasonal priorities.
  • Source and onboard new vendors, evaluate supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Manage category P&L and support annual budgeting, line reviews, and business planning processes.

Assortment & Product Lifecycle

  • Develop and optimize product mix based on data-driven insights into sales, margin, and inventory turnover.
  • Manage full SKU lifecycle, including new item setup, pricing maintenance, and product discontinuations.
  • Oversee product compliance, labeling, and documentation (e.g., MSDS, INCI) to meet Health Canada regulatory requirements.

Procurement & Planning

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase order creation, tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Manage import documentation, resolve shipment discrepancies, and ensure timely replenishment across two distribution centers and 25+ stores.
  • Forecast demand and monitor inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize overstock or stock-outs.

Promotions & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Retail, and E-commerce teams to execute promotional campaigns and launches that align with category goals.
  • Negotiate promotional incentives such as FOC, GWP, and vendor credits to maximize ROI on events and activations.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in buying or merchandising, ideally in retail or beauty.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with advanced Excel (Macros, BI) and ERP knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of import operations, product compliance and labeling regulations.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Experience in multi-store retail or beauty/lifestyle categories.
  • Familiarity with CRM and omnichannel retail programs.
