Your opportunity:
As the Student Life Coordinator, Recognized Campus Organizations you will be responsible for the coordination of student activity space (e.g. 21 Sussex Club House) and playing a pivotal role in expanding the capacity of campus organizations by engaging students in service delivery, consulting with group leaders on organizational development, development and assessment of leadership programs or opportunities to foster civic engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
- Responding to escalated complaints using informal negotiation skills
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Keeping well-informed on theories related to equity, diversity and inclusion
- Advising and coaching students on co-curricular goal-setting
- Interpreting and applyingpolicies and procedures when making independent decisions
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum four years' experience in program development and delivery through a combination of student affairs, campus organizations, government or related sector.
- Experience working with recognized campus organizations (clubs, societies, governments) in a university or college setting is required.
- Formal training and/or education in at least one of the following areas: higher education, student affairs, event management, volunteer management, group facilitation, risk management.
- Event management experience.
- Experience working within policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated advanced skill with MS Office e.g. Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and E-mail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, conflict mediation, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of student development theories, organizational development frameworks and other related theories.
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of accountability and democracy in decision-making.
- Effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work evening, weekends and flexibility/adaptability in work schedule required as position works closely with students.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $81,312. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $103,986. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
