Job Description

Husky TechnologiesTM is the largest brand-name supplier of injection molding equipment and services to the plastics industry. We build, install and support the world's most comprehensive range of injection molding systems and equipment, including machines, molds, hot runners, auxiliaries and integrated systems.

We are currently seeking a Senior PET Process SME to join our Advanced Solutioning team. You will be working alongside our process, application, melt delivery and technology teams focused on developing the next level of PET Molding System. Success will require applying a broad range of engineering skills, an innovative spirit, an instinctive vision for the future to find digital ways to maximize the ease of use of our system

Responsibilities:

• Architect for the future PET Molding System: leverage A+E data to model relationships between application, process and quality, self-optimization, leverage SOC and processing best practice to minimize operator intervention
• Identify and quantify relationships between application, machine/mold/melt delivery hardware, application, process parameters and part quality attributes, through design of experiments on pilot and production scale equipment.
• Lead projects aimed at:
• experimental development of new hardware or processing strategies that improve plasticizing output and/or melt quality
• deepening Husky's scientific knowledge of injection molding processing and technology
• Identify and adapt evolutions in key technologies, applications and market trends to maintain the competitive advantage of Husky products
• Data-driven scientific approach: First principles research, scientific relationships and numerical analyses to better interpret and predict poorly understood physical phenomena (causation vs. correlation)
• Develop end-to-end solutions in collaborating with business development teams and our customers
• Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in A+E, Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions
• Technical lead for projects, managing project timelines, resources and budgets

Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree preferably at Master's or PhD level
• 5-10+ years of experience in related industries
• An in-depth understanding of injection molding concepts, system operation, PET processing and an advanced knowledge of rheology and polymer properties relevant to processing.
• Lead Product Launch Teams as required and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions utilizing Husky`s technology suite
• Ability to use science and systematic methodologies, data analysis and machine learning as practical tools to find meaningful technical solutions for Husky's product offering
• Background in application and technology development as well as generating new IP
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members
• Work well in progressive team environment
• Strong time and project management skills, and ability to delegate tasks and projects
