Windigo Catering LP is seeking an experienced and responsible Kitchen Manager to work in our fast-paced kitchen environment at Musselwhite Mine remote camp. This position works 14 days at the mine, followed by 14 days off. The Kitchen Manger will report directly to the Camp Manager.

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary degree/diploma in the Culinary Arts (or relevant program). Must possess Red Seal Certification.

· 3-5 years' Management experience in the Hospitality, Restaurant industry or any other satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.

· Five or more years' experience as a Cook in a remote camp environment preferred.

· Have the ability to lead a team to provide and maintain production for 500 plus camp.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory and leadership skills.

· Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and regulations governing food safety, and workplace health and safety.

· Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.

The successful applicant will also be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.

Role and Responsibilities:

· Oversee all kitchen operations ensuring healthy and safe work practices while maintaining high service levels and smooth day to day operations.

· Organize and assist with kitchen schedule in accordance with business demands and trends.

· Order inventory and kitchen supplies, ensuring sufficient stock levels.

· Create, review and update menu options.

· Enforce proper sanitation and preparation practices and procedures, ensuring compliance with recognized food safety management policies (HACCP) and all other relevant provincial legislation.

· Leads the preparation and conducting of employee performance appraisals for kitchen staff, up to and including Chef. Training and performance management.

· Work in collaboration with the other crew Kitchen Manager and team.

· Host daily line-up meetings focusing on safety and adhere to company policies and procedures.

· Other duties shall be assigned as required.

Pay: From $67,000.00 per year
