V.I.L. Landscaping is expanding rapidly into the commercial snow & ice management space — while remaining Oakville's top residential landscape design-build company.

We're recruiting experienced, reliable winter operators who want steady hours, long-term opportunity, and year-round work.

If you're a union operator laid off for winter, a farmer used to long hours, a roofer, tradesperson, or someone with real equipment experience — we want to talk to you.

POSITION: Snow Removal Operator (Standby Program)Pay:

$35/hour

Guaranteed minimum 20 hours per week (paid whether it snows or not*)

Paid standby

Paid training & equipment orientation

Equipment You May Run:

  • Plow Trucks
  • Salt Trucks
  • Wheel Loaders
  • Skid Steers
  • Tractors
  • Sidewalk machines + attachments

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Respond to snow & ice events on-call as part of our standby operator team
  • Plow commercial lots, industrial yards, driveways, and residential routes
  • Salt lots and walkways using truck-mounted or loader-mounted spreaders
  • Perform basic mechanical inspections & preventative maintenance
  • Operate equipment safely, efficiently, and confidently
  • Work with a high-output, organized operations team

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

People with real experience in at least one of the following:

Snow plowing (trucks, loaders, tractors, skid steers)

Salt truck operation

Mechanical / equipment repair skills

Farming or heavy equipment experience

Union operators (laid off for winter)

Roofing/landscaping/trades background

Anyone reliable, experienced, and available for storms

LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITIES (NOT JUST WINTER)

We are specifically looking for operators who want to transition to:

  • Summer maintenance (full-time)
  • Hardscape/landscape construction
  • Summer operator role (loaders, skid steers, excavation)
  • Enhancement crews
  • Yard/Shop operator roles
  • Field support roles

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1–2 seasons of snow plowing OR heavy equipment operation
  • Ability to work during nights, early mornings, and irregular storm hours
  • Mechanically inclined (basic fixes, troubleshooting, greasing, fluids, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license (G or DZ an asset)
  • Reliable transportation to and from routes
  • A team-first attitude and strong communication
