Job Overview
Komatsu is looking for a proactive and experienced
EHS Advisor
to support our Sparwood region. If you're passionate about safety, sustainability, and working where the big machines roam, this role is for you

Reports to:
Senior EHS Manager

Shift:
5x2- Monday- Friday

Safety Sensitive:
Yes- drug & alcohol testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required

Travel:
Up to 25%

Term:
12-month contract

Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide boots-on-the-ground EHS support across remote mining sites
  • Manage training records, contractor documentation, and compliance reporting
  • Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions using root cause analysis
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update policies accordingly
  • Oversee environmental programs: spill response, waste management, audits
  • Champion Komatsu's sustainability goals—cutting emissions, energy use, and waste
  • Engage teams to build a strong safety culture from the ground up
  • Act as a trusted advisor on all things EHS

Qualifications/Requirements

  • NCSO, CSO, or equivalent designation (or working toward it)
  • Occupational Health & Safety Certificate
  • 3+ years in mining, construction, or industrial EHS roles
  • Valid driver's license and unrestricted site access
  • Deep knowledge of OH&S and environmental regulations
  • Strong communicator with training and presentation skills
  • Analytical, organized, and driven to make safety second nature
