This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in sales, customer service, or building materials — or a motivated learner ready to grow in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Full-Time Sales Associate – Monaghan Lumber (Peterborough, ON)

What You'll Be Doing

As a Sales Associate, you'll be a key part of our customer experience team. Your main goal is to help customers find the right products for their needs while maintaining our high standards of service and professionalism.

Duties include:

  • Welcome customers to the showroom and offer friendly, knowledgeable assistance
  • Recommend products and provide accurate pricing, quotes, and availability
  • Offer product knowledge and installation guidance where appropriate
  • Process payments, quotes, and invoices using SPRUCE POS and Toolbx ecommerce platform
  • Monitor and respond to customer and internal emails promptly and professionally
  • Complete end-of-day closing procedures, including cashing out and bank deposits
  • Participate in product knowledge meetings and training
  • Help onboard and support new staff members with sales and service
  • Maintain a clean and organized showroom, including sample boards and displays
  • Assist with annual inventory counts and product recording
  • Represent Monaghan Lumber with professionalism and uphold our code of conduct at all times

What We're Looking For

  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping people
  • Comfortable working on your feet and managing multiple tasks at once
  • Previous experience in sales or with building materials is a strong asset (but not required)
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow with the team

What We Offer

  • Full-time hours: 49 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Starting salary: $60,000–$65,000 per year
