The following restrictions apply to all internship candidates:
- Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Wednesday May 6, 2026.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Calgary area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.
- By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).
Summary
The IT Analyst Intern will complete an 8-month work term starting May 2025. Supporting Precision's growing environment at a technical level, the successful candidate will represent the infrastructure team in its relationships with business unit customers and other IT groups. A focus and appreciation of the need for process, change control and infrastructure stability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities
- Administer on-premises and cloud-based services hosted on Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure
- Work with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, perform backup administration, and provide maintenance and support for existing infrastructure technologies under the guidance of a senior analyst
- Manage and maintain endpoints, including Windows 11, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and iOS devices, with a focus on patch management, application packaging, and ongoing sustainment using Microsoft Intune and Tanium
Knowledge & Skills
Shows a strong passion for optimization and the development of ML/AI solutions, particularly in addressing challenges within the oil and gas industry
Exhibits a willingness to learn and collaborate with others, supported by a strong analytical mindset and a talent for problem-solving
Highly motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and subprojects effectively
Inspires personal and professional growth in themselves and others, fostering an environment that encourages creativity and innovation
Education
Pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related studies with an aptitude for Infrastructure technologies
Experience
Experience in Microsoft infrastructure and related technologies. Focusing on OS management, OS configuration, application management, and software lifecycle management
Experience with scripting using PowerShell, JavaScript, and batch
Competent with endpoint hardware, including but not limited to Laptops, Tablets, Desktops, Printers, and Video Conferencing systems
Competent with protocols of all core LAN/WAN technologies, including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP
Experience with the Oil & Gas Industry, ITIL practices, and SOX compliance is an asset
Previous experience working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment is required
