Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to help support daily warehouse operations, with a primary emphasis on inventory control and receiving functions. This role plays a key part in ensuring inbound materials are accurately received, documented, stored, and tracked. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a warehouse environment, strong organizational and leadership abilities, and certified forklift experience. This position works closely with warehouse leadership to maintain efficient workflows, safety standards, and accurate inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inbound Operations (Primary Responsibility)

  • Coordinate and manage all incoming freight and deliveries
  • Review and verify purchase orders, packing slips, and shipment quantities
  • Oversee unloading, inspection, and proper placement of incoming materials
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or damages, escalating issues as needed
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal teams regarding receiving issues

Inventory Control & Organization

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and regular audits
  • Assist with inventory tracking, storage layout, and space optimization
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible
  • Support inventory accuracy within warehouse systems

Team Support & Daily Operations

  • Help assign daily workloads and prioritize tasks for warehouse staff
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training for receiving and inventory procedures
  • Monitor workflow efficiency, safety compliance, and productivity
  • Promote clear communication and collaboration across warehouse functions

Safety & Equipment Use

  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure warehouse safety standards and housekeeping expectations are met

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Solid understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory processes
  • Forklift certification and hands-on operating experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to lead by example

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
