Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant with expertise in taxation, audit management, and business advisory. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of public practice experience in Canada and a strong background in handling CRA audits, corporate structuring, and providing strategic business advice. This role is perfect for a qualified CPA who is passionate about helping clients optimize their operations and financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Taxation Services:

• Prepare a wide range of tax returns, including (but not limited to):
• T1 Individual Income Tax Returns
• T2 Corporate Income Tax Returns
• T3 Trust Income Tax Returns
• GST/ PST Returns
• Specialized filings (e.g., UHT for underused housing, T5013 for partnerships, T3010 for charities, T2057 for rollovers, T1134 and T1135 for foreign reporting).

Audit Management:

• Handle CRA audits, including responding to inquiries, preparing supporting documentation, and liaising with CRA auditors.
• Assist clients with other regulatory audits, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
• Provide guidance to clients to reduce future audit risks.

Business Advisory Services:

• Offer strategic advisory services to help clients with business planning, financial forecasting, and operational improvements.
• Assist in developing and implementing corporate structures to maximize efficiency, tax benefits, and compliance.
• Support business start-ups and expansions with tailored advisory and planning services.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare compiled financial statements for small businesses, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Client Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation in good standing - must have
• Minimum of 4 years of public practice experience in Canada, with a focus on taxation, CRA audit management, and business advisory.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, corporate structuring, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, CaseWare).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
