Senior Manager, CPA

We are looking for a driven Senior Manager (CPA) with an entrepreneurial mindset, dedication to superb client service, and ambition to grow at a small-medium sized accounting firm. You will be working closely with one of Provision's Strategic Advisors with the goal of transitioning all their client relationships to you in 3-5 years. You'll become the primary contact for the client and act as their relationship manager – nurturing and development long-term partnerships. In addition to interfacing with clients, you will be a primary implementor of the partners' day-to-day client strategy, objectives, and practices.

Beyond traditional tax planning, you will have the opportunity to expand your work as a CPA. This role will involve:

• Business consulting directed at entrepreneurs, including negotiations, coaching, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
• Advising on the technical work on tax rollovers, reorganizations, purchase and sale of business-type transactions.
• Building a personal business network of entrepreneurs / potential clients
• Managing your own book of business and bringing in new business

As far as experience and skills, our Senior Manager will have a strong background in accounting and tax, but, most importantly:

• Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• Excellent empathy to understand client needs and pain points
• Ambitious and proactive
• Risk tolerant
• Clear written and verbal communication both with clients and Provision team members.
• Have the ability to communicate complex issues to clients at a level that they can understand without overwhelming them with unnecessary details.
• Strong knowledge of small business and personal tax
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
• Experience managing junior accountants and providing feedback and points of improvement
• The desire to take the lead in client interactions and work together to solve their problems
• Energetic with a willingness to work hard and learn new skills
• Ambition to help strengthen the backbone of Canada's economy: owners of small and medium businesses.

Your background looks something like this:

• BComm/BBA in Accounting or equivalent
• CPA Designation or have written the CFE
• 2+ years of experience in accounting and tax strategy
