Senior Accountant
Segal GCSE LLP is a rapidly growing mid-size accounting, tax, and business advisory firm headquartered in midtown Toronto. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accountant to support our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in full-cycle accounting with knowledge in accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Previous experience in professional services is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
AR/AP Operation
- Assist AR team with monthly reporting and reconciliations (monthly/year-end)
- Monitor AR aging and assist internal team with internal reporting and follow up
- Establish and maintain efficient AR policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Review payables to ensure proper account recording and assist with processing payment cycles
Financial Reporting
- Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses as well as any ad hoc reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.
General Ledger Management
- Review month end team tasks for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred.
- 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in professional services.
- Proficient in financial accounting software (QBO), as well as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience CaseWare, SAP Concur and iFirm preferably.
- Experience with Power BI
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of leadership
