Position Summary
Miovision's traffic studies are used by engineers and transportation professionals globally to make important decisions about their transportation system.
The Operational Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the Data Services team can deliver customer commitments at scale. This role will focus on analyzing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, coordinating between departments, and responding to requests from the team for data analysis.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, with strong analytical skills and a talent for interpreting data in a meaningful way for stakeholders. The Operational Specialist will be familiar with root cause analysis, querying data, and building new metrics.
This is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Gather and analyze operational, compliance, and financial data as directed by leadership to prepare insights on performance gaps.
- Process Optimization: Contribute to process optimization by reviewing current workflows, escalating potential issues, and offering recommendations to management.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using established templates and guidance. Assist managers by gathering data to support forecasts and analysis.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute routine reports on operational performance, trends, and outcomes for management and HUB partners.
- Project Support: Provide project support for operational initiatives, assist with data gathering for workforce planning, and help coordinate tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and escalate operational issues as they arise and support the implementation of solutions developed by management.
- Resource Management: Assist leadership with inputs to enable them to manage budgets more effectively and allocate resources to achieve operational goals.
- Production Support: Assist with production as required to ensure business delivery is maintained.
Required skills
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate data, identify issues, and present findings to support decision-making.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: The ability to structure tasks, manage priorities, and complete projects efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for reporting and collaborating with teams both internally and within our vendor partner network.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of data structures and proficiency with data reporting/analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Excel, PowerBI).
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: A drive to identify efficiencies and consistently enhance performance.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with others and support departmental initiatives.
