As a Land Asset Strategist, you will lead the Business Unit's asset management program and champion the City's land rationalization initiatives. This role focuses on optimizing land and building portfolios, ensuring compliance with corporate standards, and supporting long-term service delivery goals. Primary duties include:

• Lead implementation of asset management plans, including service level analysis, risk assessments, and performance measures.
• Coordinate the City's land rationalization program and facilitate engagement with land-managing business units.
• Provide expert advice on land utilization, portfolio planning, and lifecycle strategies.
• Prepare and maintain financial reporting for real property assets, including Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) compliance.
• Support development of Business Unit and Corporate Land Investment Plans and related reporting.
• Oversee project staff and consultants on asset management initiatives and change management processes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering, Geography, Commerce, or Economics, and at least 5 years related experience.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
• Experience in asset management, development of asset management plans, data analytics, will be considered assets.
• Strong knowledge of the Public Sector Accounting Board standards & Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience with business process mapping, Assessment, PeopleSoft Asset Management (PSAM), and Project Management will also be considered assets.
• Personal vehicle for business use will be considered an asset
• You have strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated leadership abilities and well-developed research and analysis skills.
• Ability to obtain City of Calgary operator's permit

Workstyle

• This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
