As a Land Inventory Technician, you will be responsible for supporting development, planning, and management of a diverse portfolio of real estate assets while managing the development and sustainability of the real estate management information system, Land Inventory Data Application (LInDA). Primary duties include:
- Champion data management initiatives while supporting market assessments and lifecycle planning of real estate projects.
- Manage data and systems relating to real estate business process and information process, including verification, analysis and reconciliation of existing assets.
- Provide standard and custom mapping solutions for all real estate transactions and various business unit projects.
- Support business unit Subject Matter Experts (SME) to implement new business processes in compliance with corporate standards and asset management initiatives.
- Act as a Land inventory SME for the corporate land managing business units by supporting approved standards on managing land assets and providing training and support to all land inventory data users.
- Provide GIS consulting services and create a variety of customized reports for analysis and verification of assets as required to support the Land Systems Framework (LSF) and external inquiries.
- Support reconciliation and reporting of Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) land assets.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma including completed courses in Geographic Information System (GIS) and at least 3 years of related experience; OR
- A degree including completed courses in Geographic Information System (GIS) and at least 1 year of related experience.
- Experience must include GIS, relational database management, structured query language (SQL), Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), reporting data, Microsoft Office, and cartographic display.
- Proficiency in the following systems will be considered assets: Calgary Integrated Assessment Office (CIAO), Public One Stop Service Experience (POSSE), City Online Ownership (COOL), Spatial Information System (SPIN2) and Land Inventory Data Application (LInDA).
- Knowledge and/or experience with business process mapping, Assessment, PeopleSoft Asset Management (PSAM), Project Management and spatial data management principles will also be considered assets.
- You have strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated leadership abilities and well-developed research and analysis skills.
